Not quite canon question

When Kirsten got pregnant, I was a bit surprised. I tried to do the math, and... imagining Kirsten got pregnant right after she got married (23), which she did right after she finished college (22), at the earliest, she could have have been 24 when Seth was born, right? So Seth's 19+24=43 when she got pregnant, 44 when Sophie was born ( Read more... )

stupid questions, sophie stuff, black and blue

Yeah, I'm going with a car that seats eight people, because I might end up making it Sophie + twins + baby girl. *g*

I can see Sandy dying on impact and Ryan being trapped and unable to do much, and Kirsten dying of blood loss, you know? I'm evil like that. *g*

Thanks, babe!!!

I had figured she was younger when seth was born. I mean, we know Julie was 18 when she got pregnant with Marissa and married Jimmy, and Jimmy/Julie were pregnant at the same time as Sandy/Kirsten. I put her at more like ... 20 when Seth was born and they'd have had help from Kirsten's dad to finish school ( ... )

DUDE!!! That explanation was perfect. So the car hits Sandy, who is driving, and it crushed the driver's side to the passenger, and so Sandy is killed on impact but Kirsten is mostly trapped, slowly bleeding to death, and the car turns to the left, and Ryan's sitting on that side, and his leg stands up trapped and the kids are crying and he can see Kirsten bleeding and her eyes fluttering and... IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ANGST!!!!!

Honestly I've heard that most women when they are in the beginning stages of menopause, they become way more fertile. My grandmother had her last child when she was in the middle of menopause...so yes, more dangerous but if the woman is healthy enough they should be ok. :-)

Hard for me to buy BOTH front seat people getting killed, but a child with no seatbelt surviving. Remember the physics of holding and protecting a child in an accident. I'm sure there is possibly a freak way the child could come through, but I'd be more inclined to believe it if the little one was in pretty lifethreatening shape.

Unrestrained child is illegal pretty much everywhere in the States, though the responsible party would probably be either the parent(s) or the driver. You might want to check the precise laws state-by-state if it is important to your story.

Actually, I've been told from people who handle car crashes, that the driver will probably die instantly and the passenger die a slow painful death. *bounces* Is it so wrong of me to happy about that?

I'm putting all three kids in carseats and booster seats. *nods*

It's not that important, but it's nice to know I had the right idea about it being illegal over there. Over here? It's more like a strong suggestion. *shrugs* Stupid, I know.

In theory, Kirsten could have the twins within a year of having Sophie, if you so choose to have her do so. I mean, my mom and her one brother were only 10 months apart. (Yeah, my grandma got pregnant REAL quick after having the one baby)

Ryan kinda squeezed in what little space is left, with Sophie (three years old) in his lap? Is that allowed?
Nope. Not allowed. So very very illegal. No lap sitting is ever legal at any age. And also, if Sophie is under 5 years of age and/or a certain weight she is suppose to be in a booster seat.

And on a final note, if it's a Range Rover, if if it were hit by a, say, Ford Expedition, sideways, hitting mainly the front seats, could it kill the driver and passenger? And the twins be almost unscathed because of the carseats and Ryan with a broken leg and clavicle and Sophie with cuts because Ryan was protecting her?Range Rover -vs- Expedition, T-bone style? Whomever was sitting in the front seat on the side of impact is pretty much totally dead. (most likely from blunt head trauma and/or a broken ( ... )
