When Kirsten got pregnant, I was a bit surprised. I tried to do the math, and... imagining Kirsten got pregnant right after she got married (23), which she did right after she finished college (22), at the earliest, she could have have been 24 when Seth was born, right? So Seth's 19+24=43 when she got pregnant, 44 when Sophie was born

Ryan kinda squeezed in what little space is left, with Sophie (three years old) in his lap? Is that allowed?
Nope. Not allowed. So very very illegal. No lap sitting is ever legal at any age. And also, if Sophie is under 5 years of age and/or a certain weight she is suppose to be in a booster seat.
And on a final note, if it's a Range Rover, if if it were hit by a, say, Ford Expedition, sideways, hitting mainly the front seats, could it kill the driver and passenger? And the twins be almost unscathed because of the carseats and Ryan with a broken leg and clavicle and Sophie with cuts because Ryan was protecting her?
Range Rover -vs- Expedition, T-bone style? Whomever was sitting in the front seat on the side of impact is pretty much totally dead. (most likely from blunt head trauma and/or a broken neck due to the force of the impact being so close to him/her).
Whomever is sitting in the front seat on the other side could very well actually live. Or die. That's you're creative call to make.
Sophie would probably be more hurt than what you described because she wasn't properly restrained. With only Ryan holding on to her, and the force of the impact odds are a child that size that is not in a safety seat would probably be severly injured, if not dead. The twins would probably be fine.
I'm thinking the safest way you could write it so that Sandy and Kirsten die and everyone else is only minory injured is to have had the Cohen's upgrade their car after the twins are born. Into something with more seating but around the same size as the Rover. Like a Cadillac Escalade. It seats up to 8, so there would be plenty of room for the appropriate car/booster seats needed to realistically portray the injuries you suggested.
