Single Day Badge Question

Jan 03, 2011 06:16

I only managed to get single day badges for three days. Can I pick them up all on the same day or do I have to pick them up day by day? Last year I had a four day badge but I had to pick them up somewhere pretty far from the Convention Center. Can anybody tell me how the single day process works because I don't want to have to go super far everyday ( Read more... )

Day by day, but you can pick them up at the convention center. (Actually, you should have been able to pick up your badge last year at the convention center as well-- I know there was an option to get them elsewhere, but I don't think it was a requirement.)

Last year I went on Preview night at that random hotel that was far away to pick up just Thursdays but they told me I could've gotten all of them except Sundays that day if I had had my barcode. And they do let you pick them up at the convention center too, I ended up picking up the rest of my days at the convention center on that Friday morning. I did still have to get my Sunday badge on Sunday morning but I did that at the convention center as well. Hope that helps :)

I had single day badges last year. What you can do is go back to the Sails Pavilion where the badge pick up is, around 3pm or 5pm, and go to the booths that are on the side of it. They will give you your badge for the next day but just for the next day you can't get them all at once (unless you are lucky to get someone who would do that for you).

I also had single day badges last year. On Wednesday night, I traveled all the way over to the Town & Country Hotel, and the line was horrible, at least a two to three hour wait. However, on Friday morning, I went to the San Diego Convention Center and I never really *stood* in line - it was always moving. I went right in, got my badge, and was out of there in 5-10 minutes (most of that was spent climbing up the escalator)! Same thing Saturday morning.

There were a couple of perks to getting single day badges last year. Every day I went to get my badge, I got a new giant WB swag bag, as well as Comic-Con programs and magazines (fun souvenirs to give to friends that couldn't make it). Having a fresh badge each day also allowed me to stop by the Sideshow Collectibles booth to get a free gift card - one of which turned out to be $100 in value.

Of course, with the way things are going this year, your mileage may vary.

The convention center is the best place to pick your badge up (and like someone else said, the line moves super quickly). In theory you can NOT pick up all of your single-day badges at once, but sometimes they do let you.
