I was on call last weekend but had no other call this week. Woohoo! I was forced off work today (too many anesthesiologists, not enough ORs running) and so have a three day weekend. WOO-frelling-HOO!
Oh, don't you just looooooooove nosebleeds. I used to get them all the time, I'd wake up with a bloody pillow (joy) and now I get them passed off to me when I'm in the office during lunch and a gusher comes in, 'cos neither of the office ladies are good with noses. They can handle other blood just fine, but anything above the neck becomes my job, somehow.

Heh. I had a tiny (I mean, maybe 1/2" and really not that deep) scalp lac well in hand when the principal came in, took one look, spun around on her heel and walked right back out. :D It was everywhere - his shirt, pants, the carpet, the bench...
Yeah. It's really true what they say about head wounds bleeding like crazy/stuck pigs. Blood and bleeding don't bother me... except when it's my nose. You simply can't put pressure on a nosebleed without doing something inelegant like stuffing packing up there or, worse yet, your finger. I usually get them a few times a year: dry winter, late summer allergies. But heretofore they have always stopped. I've never had one for five frickin' days before. Thank god for Boris. He fixed me. My hero!
