I did a thing!

Hey! So I posted a couple years ago to say that I hadn't posted for a year or two. I have no idea if I'll be any better about posting in future. But I wrote an ACTUAL FIC for the first time in several years, and whether or not it turns out to be particularly good, I'm just so pleased I managed to find the time to write it and then actually did ( Read more... )

Aww, it's so awesome to hear from you! :D I need to get over to dreamwidth and catch up with you. I had an issue with logging in over there and never sorted it out.

We're doing all right. The kids have grown up so much! I mean, that should be obvious, right, but it boggles my mind when I think how small they were last time I was managing to actively post.

And thank you!! I would say that's true, I have found a place of possible occasional time to myself, maybe. Things are a little improved on that front! But I still mostly paid for that fic with lost sleep. ;)

Things are never uneventful in my family! ;) But things are going all right. I should do a post to update.

This fic is set in the comics universe, so might be a bit harder to follow, but I tried to include the necessary information in the story, and yay, thanks for giving it a shot! :D (I thought about you when I was writing this, because you're the only other person who ever illustrated one of my stories! I still think back so fondly on the picture you did for Arctic Fox. <3)

And you watched Avengers, that's great! Was it your first time seeing it? Have you seen Iron Man or any of the other movies as well?

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry it took me so long to reply! I think I had half a reply typed up and then I lost the tab. Crazy weekend. Thank you SO MUCH for giving the story a shot and telling me what you liked about it, despite not being into the comics! I'm so glad you were able to enjoy the character dynamics and relationships! :D

I haven't read much in the way of Loki fics! Do you have a favorite fic or two you could recommend? If you're interested in Steve/Tony, I know of so many fantastic ones. I should find the time to do a rec post.

You know, Loki is just a fascinating character in the comics. If you're very into him, you should consider checking out Kieron Gillen's run on Journey Into Mystery (Kid Loki!) and his current run on Young Avengers (more Kid Loki!). They're so great.

OMG, I was just thinking of you yesterday and wondering how you were. I'm barely on LJ myself anymore (I have two kids now: 26 months and almost 7 months) and I often miss the "old days" when fandom was so central to life. Are you on Twitter?

Glad you are finding time to write again!

Oh my gosh, HI!!! I was thinking about you the other day too! Going through the beta process again after all these years and remembering what a freaking amazing beta reader you were. Also pretty fantastic at coming up with fic titles! I probably could have used you on this most recent one. ;)

Oh man, two kids!! <3! I'll bet they keep you so busy. Those ages are so demanding, but so special, too! Yesterday my husband found this old video clip of him tickling our oldest son when he was maybe 10 months old. He's 10 years old now. And I was just OMG I AM GOING TO CRY. That baby is gone now and I MISS HIM. The 10yo kid is fantastic, of course, and it's amazing to be able to have conversations with him on a more adult level, it's just. They change so much, so fast ( ... )

OH! And yes, I am on twitter! Okay, I will definitely post a locked update so I can give people that info without publicly mixing up my usernames. I'm probably too paranoid about it, but I like to keep them separate.
