I would tooootally watch the Willow Show or the Sam Show. But you knew that XD

And, hey, if John fucking Barrowman can get a gay superhero show, I don't see any problem why Aly couldn't get a lesbian superhero show. Well, aside from the part where she's already contracted for a wildly popular show. But, you know. In hypothetical theory XD

I haven't been actively fannish about Buffyverse or TWW in a while, but if the Willow Show or the Sam Show came on the air? I would be glued to my TV.

If Joss would stop trying to sell his TV shows to Fox! We could have the Willow Show over on HBO or whatever cable network! It'd be awesome. (I think back then I wasn't really aware of HBO and those kinds of networks. I watched the big channels, the WB, and SPACE: THE IMAGINATION STATION (our SyFy, but with 50% more sci-fi).

Me too! I don't watch much original teevee these days, except for on USA (and even that I frequently DL instead of watching on teevee), but, man, I would be all over that shit.

My WorkBFF and I were just talking about Whedon and Fox. Also about me being a coatrack and porn. My WorkBFF and I have odd conversations.

Now I totally want to watch Aly play grown-up superhero Willow more than basically anything. Probably because my love for her has found a resurgence now that I follow her on Twitter XD

That nerd fallacy thing explains a lot about the Jossverse vampire wars.

Definitely. And unfortunately we retreat into a separate corners, convinced we're the ones besieged and in the minority. I'm guilty of it too, especially when I'm defending my boring, self-righteous heroes against the snarky and geeky sidekicks of fandom.

Most TV writers were nerds, which is why the nerds are heroes so often on TV, and the popular people are jerks.

True, too true. Heck, it's not like I want to go back to the way things were, when you had to be John Wayne to be a hero. But it's still annoying when I just want good characterisation and a balanced perspective.

I agree with you completely about Nikki, both about how good a spin-off could be and how badly Whedon might screw it up. But I think the same about Faith, because I think that a spin-off that would do what makes her distinctive as a character justice might be badly prevented by Whedon's occasional "if your sex life is not based around committing absolutely and monogamously to someone until they die or you have an incredibly painful break-up, then you're a broken and immoral person" issues.

The Nerd Fallacy sounds veeeery familiar. I've given up on metafandom ages ago, so thanks for linking to that entry.
