I'm writing this on another computer because my laptop's battery is dead. Its charger decided to stop working without warning yesterday. No problem, right? I just need to pick up the phone, call the company, and buy a new charger. Right? Right. Except ( Read more... )

I learnt a lot from this post!

most of my family hates making phone calls too. the only solace I can offer them is thinking about making the calls is often worse than actually making that calls.

hope your charger starts working :-)

That's what my mom tells me: that it's worse thinking about making the call than actually making the call.

Thanks for reading, and I'm glad you enjoyed the entry.

I used to be that teenager/young adult who spent hours on the phone. Now I hate it! It's so strange. Maybe it is because I have to use the phone at work but I don't know. I avoid making phone calls at all cost. and that's not good.

Maybe it is. I couldn't imagine having a job where I had to be on the phone all the time.

I am right there with you. However I spent hours on the phone when I was younger. Now I hate talking on the phone even to family& friends. I really hate calling companies because 1. the treat you like you are an idiot if you are a woman and 2. I lose MY temper at stupidity. My husband always gets what he wants from them because his deep, melodious voice lulls them into a trance, I think. So why should I call and get upset when I have him, though sometimes I have to nag and beg to get him to do it. Otherwise I use the internet when I can. I told you I could be a hermit.

Well written. True, true true.

I don't mind the phone for people I know, but, if I'm making something like a social call, and it's to someone I've not spoken to before, I get nervous.

BTW, may I have your messenger info?

I hope you manage to get a new laptop charger.

I'm terribly late replying to comments.

You can definitely have my Messenger info. It has my full first and last name in it, though, so I'll send it to you by e-mail instead of posting it here.
