I'm writing this on another computer because my laptop's battery is dead. Its charger decided to stop working without warning yesterday. No problem, right? I just need to pick up the phone, call the company, and buy a new charger. Right? Right. Except ( Read more... )

I agree with you about the poor customer service or an accent you can't understand...very difficult. I hope you got a good representative if you finally had to make that call!

It is difficult. I actually had even more difficulty once I made the call, so I ended up going to Best Buy and buying a universal charger, which is working wonderfully.

Heh, I'm very good at putting off using the phone, too. And when I do it, it's easy, and I think, "why did I put it off?" But the next time, I still find myself avoiding it.

Yes, exactly. I usually find that, too, unless I get a customer service person who is rude or doesn't know what they're talking about. Then I know exactly why I didn't want to make the call. Lol.

I also really, really despise having to talk to a real person on the phone for anything non-personal (friends and family are fine, anything else -- why can't I do this online?).

eBay and Amazon and PDF support manuals and touch-tone banking menus and getting the hours for the store by pressing 5 and all that jazz? Perfect as far as I'm concerned, lol. ;)
