I really prefer to make positive happy posts, but unavoidably I have to post something more serious. After a lengthy battle with diabetes, two days ago my father passed away. This has been a rough experience for us; he struggled with his health for the long time. Always a fighter my Dad came through several strokes, memory loss, and a minor

I'm sorry to hear that Scribble. I know it was a long battle for your Father, and you did a great job looking after him. Even when it's expected, it doesn't make it any easier.

Thank you. I know we did what we everything we could for him, but it's hard not to wish there was something more that could have been done. It was very hard for him in the end. :(

Thank you. I know you saw some of what was happening. It was a long process. I'm sad that he's gone, but I do feel that at least he is no longer suffering.

You did your best to take care of him over these last several years. And for that, you should be incredibly proud.
I'm sure he's very proud of you.

It was hard because it seemed like an ever escalating challenge. We tried everything we could over time. I'm just grateful for the time we were able to share. There were several points over the last 3 years when the doctors tried to prepare me that he might pass on. I'm proud of his strength to fight his way back after many close calls. He gave me more time together then he could have, and for that I am very grateful.
