Loss in the Family

I really prefer to make positive happy posts, but unavoidably I have to post something more serious. After a lengthy battle with diabetes, two days ago my father passed away. This has been a rough experience for us; he struggled with his health for the long time. Always a fighter my Dad came through several strokes, memory loss, and a minor heart attack before succumbing to one final heart attack and infection. He spent the last couple years in a permanent hospital setting as his condition required nearly constant care. Although we knew his strength couldn't last forever it was still a shock when the end finally came. The next while will involve dealing with his affairs and adjusting to the new reality. Fortunately I have my fiance Michael (Havoas), his family, and the familiarity of our costuming work to help get through this and help maintain a sense of normality. Although it will be a couple weeks before we'll be completely back to business as usual, we're still working. The comfortable routine of building fursuits is very soothing amongst the challenges of dealing with this loss.

To those who knew about the situation over the years thank you very much for your patience, help, and support! I'm grateful for the time I got to spend with my Dad. He will be remembered and missed for a long time to come.
