Loss in the Family

I really prefer to make positive happy posts, but unavoidably I have to post something more serious. After a lengthy battle with diabetes, two days ago my father passed away. This has been a rough experience for us; he struggled with his health for the long time. Always a fighter my Dad came through several strokes, memory loss, and a minor ( Read more... )

And Yeah. It was hard watching him decline. Especially at the end he was really suffering. We'd hoped he would be able to pull through it, but at least he is no longer in pain. He really did remarkably well considering everything.

If you don't mind me asking, how old was he?

*hugs* sorry to hear he had to go. My dad has Diabetes as well he's 61 and luckily he manages it fairly well.

He was older then your dad. He was also uncooperative about controlling his diet; he always had a sweet tooth. Technically it wasn't the diabetes itself that was the issue. The diabetes led to a number of other conditions, and those are what led to his trouble.
