I think Phantom's identity and Zawu being in that cutscene are basically the two things you don't see coming.

I think it's been proven that the party has no idea how conspicuous they look. :| Even when it's pointed out, apparently.

Didn't see that one coming either.
Funny how all the previous interactions between Ethan, Castor and Zawu take a completely different sense once that you know. Especially the first encounter between Ethan and Zawu (well, the first time we see them meet each other).
