Since I've got time on my hands lately, and my hands on a handful of wonderful books, here's something that may aspire to the title of book review. But do not be mistaken, it probably won't be capable of actually becoming a review. Also, you all know I'm helpless when it comes to LJ cuts. So do not hurt me if I will have to do edits or if in the ( Read more... )

See! There's the sisterly bond that crosses the time and space! xD

IT'S AMAZING, ISN'T IT??? What do you mean 'loved'?! Correct yourself! But I was really disappointed that book didn't have that famous scene when Mr.Darcy jumps into the pond and then Elizabeth sees him all wet and dripping ♥_♥. the scene is famous from BBC mini series with Colin Firth, of course.

Ah, I read Artemis Fowl years ago :p hem... if you love fantasy and Jane Austen-ish writing style, you might want to try reading Susanna Clarke's book, 'Jonathan Strange & Mr.Norell' or the collection of her short stories 'The Ladies of Grace Adieu'.

I just checked out 'Jonathan Strange & Mr.Norell' and I cannot believe it but the English version is cheaper then the Polish one. In a Polish store! That's a first. Oh well. I think I will buy the Polish one so my mum can also read it. It's sounds interesting. :D

Both of the books intrigued me, but Demon's Lexicon didn't hit the bookshelves here and I'm skeptical to online shopping. Will read Artemis Fowl after I finished reading the Dark Volume :D

I've peeked Brennan's journal a few days ago, and it was great indeed :)

I'm awful at ordering online too. I actually ordered Demon's Lexicon with help from the principal of English School in my town. But not the school that I attend, a rival school. xD But it's totally worth it. It has so many really surprising and unexpected twists and such witty humor that you really cannot leave it till you end it.

Artemis is also brilliant, it's not as dark but I feel it's heading there in next volumes (which I will get my hands on, soon...). And Artemis is a darling, for example he has those moments when he's really bothered by the fact that he may have - in fact - made a joke. And that's obviously a reason to do self analysis because something's not right. xDDD
