It appears that I forgot how to play defense. I think I need to give up FB Scrabble. I don't take it seriously enough, and it makes me focus on my turns without focusing on the whole game, the rhythm of the game, and many other things that are pretty important in not sucking.

There are a couple of rather odd-smelling phonies on that list. (Although it's otherwise nice -- LENGTHiER is cool!) FB Scrabble is still untimed and void, right? That's why I stopped playing. The guessing game is bad for word knowledge, especially in double challenge.

yeah. FALCIONS i wasn't watching and didn't register it til it was well beyond a time i could challenge. DETINUED i was up by a lot and decided i didn't care just in case it was good. my phoneys -- i needed OUTHIDE to stay and a miracle to win, and got one but not the other. MESTENO was pure confusion. i also played ZONATES and FAILERS, which, unsurprisingly, didn't stay on teh board. i have word problems.

Giving up FB Scrabble would cut down yet another line of our communications. But do as you wish. :)
