I am not "stepping down"; I am serving out the remainder of my term (ends March 2012) and opting not to run for the Executive Council again for no less than 1 year. "Stepping down" implies I'm leaving an unfinished term behind. Scott, I've been out of the scene for a couple years now, but have been lurking nonetheless.

I want to thank you for years of service as PSI president. I'm not saying your position is THE most thankless position in the world poetry, but I am saying it's a lot of work and you have to put up with a lot of bullshit and Midwest Mafia jokes aside, you don't get a whole lot in return. You know, other than that all making the world a better place through poetry thing.

PSI and by extension, NPS, is better because of you. You deserve this respite from PSI leadership.
