NPS #4 - Presidential Clarification
I am not "stepping down"; I am serving out the remainder of my term (ends March 2012) and opting not to run for the Executive Council again for no less than 1 year. "Stepping down" implies I'm leaving an unfinished term behind. While this is my last NPS as a sitting President, I will still be president during iWPS in October 2011 and for most of WOWps in Denver in 2012, at least until the SlamMasters meeting elections take place. At that point I will be sitting on the EC forum for transition purposes for about another week or so, but then I'll be off those back room forums.
Also, I am not retiring from Slam. I have always been a competing poet (taking off only 1 year, 2004, not making the team in 2009). I have always felt it was good to be able to experience the events from all angles, so I never let being president stop me from slamming. I will still compete as I see fit and I will still be a SlamMaster. My night is too awesome to stop doing THAT.
