Bayou Christmas

Dec 19, 2009 10:12

I got a very cool gift from my buddy/co-worker Megan. I love this comic, and she got me volume one.  You can read it at the link for nothing, but *I* get to take it home and lay on the couch with it.

I loved this when I read it earlier this year. Thanks for the reminder. Vol 2 is due to be released this summer I think.

Bayou is great. But the fact that it's free has made it really hard to justify looking at it any other way.

Now, now. It's great anyway and you know it.

Thank you for turning me on to this comic! It's how I just spent two hours of my morning.

Dude. It really sucked me in.

What was funny was how I got into it. My co-worker, the aforementioned Megan, said, "I want to send you this link to this cool comic but I don't want you to think I'm racist!" When they have to guess, it means it usually is in some way, but I assured her I wouldn't turn her into the Right On Brothers and a good time was had by all.

Good luck! It's online if you want to read it for yourself, but the book is kind of small for a library that keeps graphic novels and comics. not dissuading you; just warning you that if you buy it that it shelves funny. One librarian to another.

I'd put this right up there with the early stuff in Fables and Lucifer, Season of the Mists from Sandman, the original Books of Magic, and Alan Moore's Swamp Thing.

Hey, thanks for turning me on to this one. I would just have assumed if it was online then it wasn't in print. Time to go spread the word to the guys at my comic book shop and get them to put it on the shelves!
