I hear you. I wanted to be able to write poems the way I feel them. I can't.
Everyone must have SOMETHING they can't do. Otherwise, you're too much and people will hate you.
Besides, I'm betting you are your own worst critic.

It's like when I sit down with the guitar. I'm a competent guitarist but would love to be more than that -- probably not gonna happen; don't have the time I'd like to woodshed and get really, really good -- but the playing makes me happy and I get thinking about poems and such while I'm fiddling with lame songs...
and it's worth it.

Writing ISN'T as easy as some other art forms. I can dance my ass off. I can choreograph in my head and have it come out looking pretty nice and neat. It comes easy to me. But writing, words, putting my thoughts and feelings down and having them come out sounding like a poem? No! Can't do it!
You have a gift! I know that you appreciate it, but please know that it doesn't come so easily for everyone. Just because we talk doesn't make us all poets. Just because we walk doesn't make us all dancers.
But back to you: I am actually sorry that you are feeling frustrated. Please don't mistake my debating your point for non-support of your frustration.
