Thunderpants. Awesome. Makes me think of Thundercleese, and I love me some Brak. I don't care if that means I like bad cartoons and bad songs, I love it.

Finals are in Chicago for this, then?

Reading the posts you and Louise put up makes me want to travel to other places and see really good slams like that.

As weird as I feel about it, I am able to do things like that - take a flight and go to Chicago or wherever for a couple of days, especially when it's usually midweek. Flights are cheap, I get credits toward free flights to other places (like Hawaii, that's on my game plan for this year at some point, a nice goal to work toward) and see a different town.

When do these finals take place, and are one or both of you going? I'd love to meet Louise as well as have a chance to talk to you when you're not wearing all those hats and busy busy busy at nationals or in the middle of a tour stop.

I do get good slams here, but there's something about new scenery and new voices (and other ways of doing all sorts of things) that gives me so much to think about. Seeing unfamiliar people do slam gives you a strange perspective that allows you to see a lot of things about it that give me, at least, a lot of material to stimulate my writing.

Plus, Chicago's got great stuff to do (and places to do some crazy record shopping) :)
