“Jack!” Gwen ran to him as he entered the Hub, hugging him tightly.
“You’re okay,” Ianto gasped, his relief evident for a second before slipping back into his butlerish persona.
“It worked,” Owen glanced triumphantly at Ianto then realised Jack was alone. “Where’s Tosh?”
Jack shook his head. “It didn’t work, Owen. I had to live through the last 60 years. Tosh died in 1992, aged 83.”
“She died happy,” he added seeing the stricken looks on his team’s faces. “She had children, grandchildren.” She died happy, he repeated trying to convince himself it was true.
