...and unless they are young, all of those people who are afraid the world will end in 2012, are not new to crazy. They have undoubtedly bought into plenty of doomsdays before this next one. Obviously, they have always been wrong, up to now...so you would expect them to begin to doubt their own paranoia at some point!
But no. Their hysteria is unwavering.

The people who think the world will END in 2012 know NOTHING about the Mayan calendar or culture. 2012 is just the start of the Next Age, analogous to a millenium; which, as you noted, passed for us with no more doom than any other year.
