So What's Up With This Twilight Thing?

Tried reading the first book, just...couldn't. Which has never happened to me before with a "popular" book - I enjoyed the Harry Potter books, and I could have finished Eragon, if I'd really wanted to. But Twilight was simply painful. What precisely is the appeal here?

I think you pretty much have to be a pre-teen girl. Either in actuality or in mentality.

Did you read any of the Dan Brown books? Da Vinci Code and all that... I tried reading those, and I was giggling helplessly through chapter one until I realized it wasn't supposed to be funny.

Hmmm. Perhaps you are right. Since I'm not likely to be channeling any pre-teen girls anytime soon, I guess I'll just have to write it off as a mystery.
