AGAIN!!!!!!

So, I'm reading the article about the service and burial for LAPD officer Randall Simmons. For those of you not in the City of Angels, this was a sickening tragedy.  Psycho gang-boy holes up in house and kills his brother and father, then shoots two S.W.A.T. officers, wounding one of them fatally. Officer Simmons was more than just a veteran cop.

I used to actually write obits a few years back, sometimes creating them, but more often simply transcribing...

Is that an AP article too, or just specific to a Los Angeles area paper?
I guess journalistic standards declined significantly when I wasn't looking. A rare error is one thing, but errors in multiple articles is another.
And to think I thought a fellow reporter's use of the editorial "I" in feature articles for our paper annoyed me most. I think spelling errors annoy me more, and probably just as much as the Bible scripture my editor/publisher includes in our masthead.
