The developments she must have missed, the things she didn't know. How could she have done anything if she was here? None of this made any sense, but she knew from her tone, from the way she presented herself, she wasn't lying. Riza had never been a patient of hers in the clinic and, therefore, didn't know she could tend to wounds. It seemed silly that she would pick a random face out of the crowd and say she knew them ( ... )

She smiled slightly and, to show she was fine, she touched her fingers lightly to the place where she had been wounded, feeling the stitches she had put into the shirt by hand press exactly against the scar beneath.

"Sakura did the finishing work a short time after I woke up here, almost two months ago. It's fully healed."

She sat down with a nod.

"You must have a lot of questions," she said. She knew how insane her own story sounded. "You can ask me anything you like and I'll be completely honest. I know that you're trustworthy. In my time, you probably know more than I do." Her lips quirked up a little at that, despite everything, but it was only suggestion of a smile. There was too much still unknown about what had or would happen on the Promised Day. "Can I ask you if you remember anything at all about what was going on in Amestris when you left?"

"I do have a lot of questions," she replied, leaving for the milk and the glasses to put it in. There would be no way around it, left in the dark about so many things when Ling disappeared, already an uncooperative half-brother as he was, but where to begin, where to end, where everyone came into it was a confusing matter, one that could not be settled simply talking and thinking long hours over it.

She returned a moment later, offering a fresh glass of milk to Riza with a bit of a smile. "But I don't know where to start. Scar-san knows nothing about me and I don't know anything about you. The 'timeline' confusion really makes it hard to understand."

She frowned, eyes settling on Xiao-Mei. "The last thing I remember was going beneath Central in search of Xiao-Mei. There was this terrible man. I don't know what he was, but he wasn't human. I don't know anything beyond that. Almost as soon as I arrived, I woke up here."

"Beneath Central?" she repeated. "I think the person you're talking about is what the homunculi call Father. The one behind everything. You were beneath Central again when you healed me, and you said you sensed him below us. You and Scar made a hole in the floor and you went down after him. That was just a few minutes before I was brought here. Something terrible and black expanded from down there and it enveloped me and the chimeras. That is the last thing I remember before waking up here ( ... )
