One of those passers-by just so happened to be one Renly Baratheon, who stopped and stared at the very familiar young lady in front of him. It had to be Margaery, but how long had she been wandering about covered in a blanket? He took a careful step closer, not wanting to startle her -- though of course he would, it is not every day one sees their husband back from the dead, after all, but that is beside the point for now.

"Margaery? Is it truly you, or have I been gone mad from living with my brothers too long?"

The sight of Renly Baratheon still made Margaery's heart flutter as it had when she had been fourteen years old. He looked hale and healthy and alive --

Then reality slammed down like a hammer. She simply stared at her husband for a few long moments. Renly Baratheon was dead. She had seen his corpse. That meant she was dead, then. She couldn't be dead. Had someone poisoned her without her realising it? If she was dead, the Tyrell-Lannister alliance would be for naught. She didn't feel dead, but what living person knew what death was like? The spectre spoke of his brothers. Robert was dead, but had Stannis died too? Gods, that left Joffrey as the only contender for the throne ( ... )

"Renly Baratheon, my lady, though I can see why you would not believe it." He gave her a slightly cheeky grin, and shrugged off his coat, offering it in place of the blanket.

"Come, let's get out of this cold and I shall explain. As much as I can, anyway, which is not terribly much at all. I was dead, yes, and I do remember it, and then I arrived here. Much as you did, I would assume."

Supposedly-Renly-Baratheon's coat was warm, although Margaery still looked at the man suspiciously. Renly Baratheon's ghost at the Blackwater had been Garlan, but this man claimed to be Renly himself. His smile was Renly's smile, all charm and mischief. She wanted his words to be true, but people did not come back from the dead. "Prove to me that you are he," she stated.

And if he were truly whom he claimed to be, why would he be hiding here and breaking poor Loras's heart?

Loras was in a similar state. While his white cloak and quilting offered him some measure of protection from the cold, plate armor was not really suitable for walking in the slush and snow. He'd nearly tripped when he first left the building, and had been forced to grab the wall for support. Embarrassed, he cast around to see if anybody had seen...and happened upon what surely couldn't have been his sister.

"Margaery?" he called, walking towards her as quickly and carefully as he could manage.

Her shoes were ruined, and so was her dress, but Margaery paid no attention to that. Her eyes widened at the familiar sight of her brother, and a bright smile appeared on her face. "Loras!" she shouted before gleefully running towards him, feeling as thought a burden had been lifted from her shoulders. When she reached him, she flung her arms tightly around him, ignoring the plate armor digging into her chest.

Despite all the confusion and uncertainty, she would not have to face this world alone.

"It is you," said Loras, wrapping his arms around her dumbfoundedly. "I don't suppose you have the faintest idea what's going on?"

He couldn't quite keep the smile off his face, though--it was a great relief to see her, ruined clothes and all. Even with Joffrey dead, he didn't much like the idea of leaving her alone in the Red Keep, and he definitely hadn't been looking forwward to making his way alone in a strange land. Besides, her smile has always been infectious.

(ooc; going to assume this happens before the renly/marg log, since in the network post loras knows margaery is here but doesn't know that renly's here yet.)

"Embracing you always hurts, you great lump," she muttered, though she showed no signs of letting go. "If you were ever gone, I could simply find an iron column and call it my brother." A worrying thought came to her -- if they had captured her and they had captured Loras, who knew how powerful this mysterious force was? "I don't know who's behind this or what they want. I woke up dreading my marriage, but I found myself here instead."
