[So Break heard Scar's broadcast, but wasn't exactly up for replying - he could hear Scar's text replies, barely even words spoken in Speaker-san's neutral tone. Break had no desire to carry on a conversation like that, not about what clearly had happened ( ... )

[Just passing by, but she catches sight of him as she pauses in the doorway. Pausing and turning back - and approaching the table now. A beat, a headtil and a soft internal sigh and then:]

I can patrol alone for a while if it would help you.

[She's not really here to drown her sorrows. Not exactly. She does miss Ned, though the painful edge of it that had seemed to hit her like a brick wall had dulled somewhat since she had recovered from her illness and brought Watson home. The dog had been a great help in cheering her up, though he did remind her a little bit painfully of Cyril and a time that had, for her, now passed.

But it is really only a desire to know the town better - and get out of the house for a bit - that brings her out tonight. A little glass of sherry in one hand, she scans the room and finds the scarred man sitting alone. With a drink and a half in her already, she's prone to be voluble and merry, but he has a cloud of sadness hanging over him. She doesn't know him at all, but it is out of a desire to cheer him up, stranger though he may be, that she approaches.]Do you mind if I sit beside you? It seems to me you've sat yourself just next to the best seat in the house, so I hope you don't mind if I take it? Unless you'd like to switch and take it yourself ( ... )

[Sliding into the seat across from him very quietly.]

I can find you something stronger.
