[ it's always been the foxhole for her, too, and while she has close to no shame for the things she has done, has seen, and has known, there are scorched in the foxhole she wishes to avoid this night. deneve, she wouldn't mind - she would understand. but she and deneve balance their relationship carefully, and this is meant to be...private. without the hallmarks of privacy.

I hardly recall a time we haven't been inside the clinic.

[ her memory was slow before; now, it's just terrible, and she knows they met elsewhere. but the day in the market they formally introduced escapes her now. ]
