[familiar was one way to put it. perhaps the best way, what with the leers, the shadows, the darkly dressed people and the conspicuous bulges in their belt lines that look suspiciously like weapons. she...she really didn't know what she was doing here, either. it certainly seemed like a dangerous place - the sort that she wouldn't want to be, and the sort that Heine wouldn't want her to be either. and she hadn't expected to even stay that long but now...]

[now she was a little lost. and what was worse than being just plain lost was that she was lost without her forge and it's handy map - not to mention the communication aspect. after circling the same blocks for at least twenty minutes, the little blond wound up outside of a brothel; Enia Brothel, the sign read.]

[the sound of laughter and music were audible from outside, and Nill halted. she didn't want to go much closer, in case she finally attracted attention - something she had managed to avoid...thus far ( ... )

[he moves more quickly in dismas, where the lights are dimmer and he feels just slightly more comfortable. that usual feeling of slightly lessened uneasiness, though, is currently overpowered by his expedition to find nill.

the brothel is a place he generally avoids at all costs, but this - this is an emergency. he starts every time he sees a head of long blonde hair, and this time, it's not only because of his dreams.

it's at least ten minutes before he sees her in the rumbling masses of people and starts to run, or at least walk quickly, in her direction. eyes fixated on her with an odd sensation of relief, he forgets to pay attention to his surroundings.]

[the slight trembling hand migrated from her hands to her arms, arms to shoulders, and shoulders to roughly her whole body. figures that may or may not have been normal sized seemed to loom - tall, dark and ominous, and their faces seemed to become harder and harder to discern from the shadows and dark buildings behind them. occasionally, Nill would take a tentative step to her left and her right in hopes of finding some sort of escape route - back to the significantly less scary outer world. that - that one seemed normal. like most of the area around the church...]

[but those slight sidesteps were thwarted. people walked behind her in the street as well, occasionally brushing past her in a way that was too close and too personal to be "accidental". the urge to cry rose in Nill's throat, the feel very much akin to gagging upon food, and those shaking hands moved to touch her wibbling lips.]

[and then, when she turned her head once more, her eyes alit upon a familiar face. and, slightly comforted by the very appearance of Heine, she ( ... )

[looking angry enough to attract a few nervous looks, he cuts through the crowds, focused not on avoiding collisions but on reaching her location as quickly as possible.

he doesn't call out her name, aware of the people who might hear the bit of information and use it. instead he walks faster, and reaches out to grasp her hand.]

Let's go.

[voice rough with unsaid words, he pulls her arm so that she's closer to him and immediately starts toward the entrance. he's not afraid (he'll never be scared again, he'll never be lost) but afraid for her. it's strange to care, to remember the mindset he had over a year ago.]

...sorry. [for being so abrupt, for not coming sooner, for not being there, but he doesn't specify.] We have to hurry.
