[He spent his morning standing in the Ruins, next to a pool of still water. Expecting it to be stagnant, he isn't surprised when he finally speaks out loud and proves it to himself: it is still.

He is aware that there is not much to it, but to say it and ensure its truth is still - not satisfying, nor pleasing - it simply is.

That is how he appears on the rooftop of the bookstore. Before he is there, he isn't, and when he is there, he is. There is no process to the appearance. It just happens.

And there just happens to be someone else on the rooftop - a girl, or a girl-shaped being. Hades watches her from behind, making as little sound as he can. The cat might see him, though he doesn't approach just yet.]

[ Rhode hears nothing.

Of course, she isn't really paying attention, either. The only thing ringing in her ears is the mewling of the kitten, and she tilts her head at it, eyes wide and blinking slowly. It's looking over her shoulder at something...

A small giggle. She doesn't move. ]

What are you staring at~?

[He raises his gaze to look at the sky above them. It's a movement made for no particular reason - perhaps close to a habit, if he had anything of the sort.

The cat. Hades looks back down at it, all movements slow and deliberate. He moves, now, still almost silent.

Not walking, exactly, but simply moving - Hades reaches the space just behind Rhode's left shoulder and stops to answer her question.]

The cat is looking in my direction.

[ Have a surprised little squeal as she jumps, completely unprepared for there to be someone standing right behind her--

And she drops the kitten. ]
