But he can't turn back now (a decision that the Dog mocks) and he hauls himself up onto the rooftop with less reluctance than he could have had. Heine is silent even when he climbs onto the ledge, looking at the floor rather than at Dawn. He catches the end of her question and stands a few feet away, awkwardly quiet.]
It's not your fault. [At least, he's pretty sure. And he still isn't much good at the 'comfort' thing.]

I know.
[Still looking. A little at, a little through.]
It still feels like... [it is]
[The bottle is open and she looks suspiciously at it, just once, before catching his eye again. She takes a swig first, as if to prove she can. Turns out she can - and she's not sure what that proves at all. Except that she makes ridiculous faces.]

[Offers it, holding it out to him and wiping her lips.]

Heine doesn't say I understand, or Do you want to talk about it? because that would be useless and -- he doesn't do useless.
(Still, that brings up the question of why he's here in the first place.)
Nevertheless, he doesn't make any move to leave, instead watching her drink with only a slightly raised eyebrow. He wouldn't care even if he knew she was underage, too used to the sight and the effects. He thinks she can handle herself, and that may be a mistake he shouldn't make.]
No thanks.
[Clears his throat and shakes his head, in case she hadn't heard or just for the sake of something to do. He stirs from his stiff stance, crossing his arms and finally looking away.]
You stole it.
[Matter-of-factly, without an ounce of judgment. It's more of a guess than anything. Even if he isn't smart, he's watchful enough to catch the slip.]
