No, something worse than that. It reminded him that he'd been born imperfect and was cast aside because of it. He and the others like him had struggled, suffered...and he'd rather not be reminded of it.
He held it under his coat and close to his chest, hidden, which earned him more than one wary glance. It made him even more thankful that he'd decided to go without his usual make-up. He almost looked like a different man.
But his voice was the same.
"Sassery!"
Joker resisted the urge to wave. For obvious reasons.

Neither of them was probably accustomed to seeing each other this way. The sober black Turk suit Sasori wore was a far cry from the flamboyant garb he wore when performing.
"I don't have all of my tools at hand, but what I have with me should at least be sufficient for assessing the damage."

"That's a nice suit. Haven't seen any better since Suit and Black." Small talk. Anything to take the edge of off of handing his arm -- or what functioned as such -- over to another man.
"Need me to roll up my sleeve?" Joker keep his eyes lowered, already slipping his coat off.

"Ah, Elena chose it. I'm still somewhat unaccustomed to wearing such garments, so I had to have it tailored somewhat. It's rather different from the uniform I wore in the past, I must say. Not nearly enough pockets, for one."
Once they arrived at their destination, he reached into one of those special pockets that he'd added, slipping out a scroll and spreading it on the table in the room. A puff of smoke later and a line of neatly arrayed tools appeared in its place.
"And that would be beneficial, yes, as I may need to examine the attachment point. We can begin whenever you're ready." His demeanor was calm and neutral. Really, it was about as much reassurance as he could offer, being someone who wasn't particularly inclined to coddle.
