I do not know how to be smooth in the personality sense. And how did you know about the fur? I removed all identifying characteristics from my message!
Is this being crushed very common? How can you tell if the other person is crushed too?

Crushes are pretty much an everyday thing. Anyway, you've got to look for proper signage and then... strike while the iron is, you know, at least on the side of marginally warm!
