You know, there's like police, and then there's US. It's always like that with superheroes.

We're like a SUPPLEMENT to the patrol! We'd be there to help where the patrol couldn't, o-or before they get there. We'd be ready and willing to jump in any time we see someone needs our help! Um. And we totally promote good will with the natives. That's helpful too, right?

Plus: we're superheroes!

Besides, not ALL heroes have a secret identity.

But if you work outside of the law and your actions wind up hindering the law, that would make you a liability, which also means you would become an enemy of the law.

Those are nasty consequences.

Well, if you seek to divide peoples' trust, by all means, create your band of vigilantes... but if it's merely heroics that you seek, you might consider joining one of the factions already in existence.
