[The heavy static is broken by another thud. When the feed resumes, it's highly crackly, but voice is back.]

[No answer for close to half a minute. Instead, have a woman screaming about "cursed vermin" and cleansing. Then a tendril of mist passes over the screen, and the shouts fade. Still no answer from Johan, but his breathing's pretty heavy, so he's obviously still there and kicking.]

I think these are the ruins, aren't they? On the edge of the city away from the sea . . . oh, Ruby . . . Please be okay.
