We're all humans here. At least I think we are...

Is that bad-- Oh. You must be new here! Well, this place is called Anatole... and we're all kind of stuck here. At least until the Gate thing decides to send us back home. So you're stuck here too, now.

Anatole? Is that the name of the colony? And that gate thing, is that like a Mass Relay? I thought there was only one Mass Relay that was one-way in the entire galaxy.

[There's a short pause, but the feed doesn't cut out yet]

Hm, does my device have video too? Let's see...

[Static fills the screen and flickers in and out for a minute or two. It eventually clears up to show Garrus's face]

There we go. Tell me, have any Alliance or Cerberus ships been seen here?

Yeah, that's the name, but the gate is a big stone arch. It's magic, or something, and glows weird colors.

[A soft gasp. Well, he's definitely not human.]

Um... there are... no spaceships here. There's some boats, though.

...isn't a cerberus a three-headed dog?

Stone arch? Hm, I'll have to take a look at it later today. As for it suppossedly being magic, I'm sure there's a perfectly logical explaination for it.

[Blinks at her reaction. Maybe she's just uneasy around aliens or turians? Because he's met humans who are like that]

No ships, huh? Damn.

It's a pro-human terrorist organization. Though yes, I think I read once that they got the name from a mythological monster.

I doubt your Shepard will ever get your message. As far as I can tell, the forge transmissions don't reach much outside the city. Not that there is much outside the city.

[pause]

Are you military? May I ask where you're from?

[A tiny, irrational part of her is hoping he'll say Amestris.]

[Sounds dissapointed] Oh, I see. Well, if I know Shepard, she's probably scanning every planet in the galaxy to see if I turn up on one. Which means it might be a while if she ever comes.

I served when I was young, but then joined C-Sec. I travelled with an Alliance commander for a while after quitting, then became a viginante on Omega.

Are you with the Alliance?

Oh. [It's clear words like "scanning planets" and C-Sec mean nothing to her.]

I've never heard of anything just called 'the alliance.'

I take it you're not from my time either. [He obviously isn't used to thinking of this as being a different time than his. He's still not sure he believes it either]

They're the human military.

Colony?

They drop you in from space, mate?

You could say that.

Well, I will say it, if that's all right. Wouldn't happen to know any girly looking Catholics, would you?

No, I haven't. I have encountered my share of female strippers and asari commandos, though.
