One interesting thing that comes out of this place is... well, the people. That should probably be obvious, but it's always interesting to meet people you would never have met if you hadn't been here. Mostly because they don't exist on your own world ( Read more... )

Hm?

[A little [pause]

Well, gallivanting is probably the wrong word for it.

Yeah? That's- I mean, that's good. I guess.

I can't not go home... but you're one of the people I'll miss the most when I do.

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

On both accounts, I'm afraid. I'm incredibly grateful to have met you.

I feel the same. You've been a good friend to me.

You still want to go home, though? Even knowing what's going to happen?

I think "want" may be the wrong word. [A little laugh.] Of course, no one wants to die. That idea frightens most people, and I'm not an exception!

But it's important to prioritize.

[voice]seventeen year olds are okay for thirtysomethings to perv on, right? :| eternalscorpion February 4 2010, 08:32:18 UTC
Agreed. This sort of experience can be quite inspirational for an artist such as myself, for all of its inconveniences.

For some of us, it's certainly possible not to have anywhere to return to.

[A chuckle.]

And I suppose it depends on what's considered underage, doesn't it? Standards do differ in this area, you know.

Ah, you're an artist? What media to you work in?

[A little pause, and then he sighs.]

They do, yes. Of course there's also a question of appropriateness, even putting aside legal technicalities.

[voice] B-but it's okay if you were married once, right? Even if she doesn't remember... :| eternalscorpion February 4 2010, 08:53:02 UTC
Yes, I specialize in puppetry.

...It depends on maturity levels, I think. As for standards, the village I grew up in treated one as an adult after their first battle, more or less.

Of course, that was during a time of war. I'm not so certain it was the same after I'd left.

Isn't that interesting? I don't think I've ever met a puppeteer before.

[...well it probably isn't worth arguing about, so Nagi just makes an interested Hmm noise.]

Ah, Rokuro. It's nice to see you've joined the conversation.

I'm sorry to say I think I can live with you disdain.

There's things I could've lived without too. But somehow raining on your parade makes me feel better.

My parade remains quite sunlit today. I hope you'll forgive me for that.

Honestly, I'm starting to suspect a personal vendetta. What I don't quite understand is what could have inspired it. I don't remember ever treating you poorly.

Sometimes, the Door gives us a second chance with people we shouldn't be able to have one with. [He sighs, quiet, thinking of Angeal. Of Cloud.]

Is it wrong to not want to go back?

[ Synthetic Voice ] internecineowl February 4 2010, 19:46:07 UTC
I don't think it is. Part of me doesn't want to either, so I guess if I said it was, that would make me a hypocrite.
