So I didn't watch the Alan Carr 1D interviews for the longest time because of reasons. (Longer, boring story: I watched his show at Christmas and everyone on it was genuinely drunk and awkward and Carr himself came off as the biggest dickend in the history of television. Whereas I really enjoyed Jimmy Carr's Christmas special and apparently he

Also, the Alan Carr interviews were some of my first introductions to 1D and well, look what happened. I need to go back and rewatch them.

The point is, those interviews are DELIGHTFUL. Harry Styles is a CHEEKY BASTARD, I love it.
I would read a million words of that! I think Harry gets branded with the whole whipped/pining thing because Louis comes off as the ring leader in some ways? And Harry follows his lead a lot. Idek, their relationship is so interesting to me! fiddleyoumust pointed out in a comment that Harry was probably a weird kid in his early days, a little charming but off-beat, and suddenly there's this guy who thinks he's THE SHIT. Not to mention, the rest of the world. So he probably had a moment of disconnect on how to deal with everything, all these people who suddenly want him! And then my feelings are that he'd probably be all THE MORE THE MERRIER and have a lot of fun with it, while Louis is EXACTLY how you described him! ... ( ... )

Nono, I agree! See, fame caught Harreh &co at just the point where most people realise their grand dreams of the future and what adulthood is like start to merge into something more realistic. So Harreh probably told himself he was awesome a lot, and unlike in most people's lives it TURNED OUT TO BE TRUE. And he's like, SWEET. Whereas Louis maybe had to fight harder for most of what he got, so he's warier.

Hell yeah, this. No one acts like that if they're fully comfortable in their own skin. People who give no fucks do not give a fuck if people notice them or not. That's the difference between the two of them. Harry is this beacon-light sort of person that everyone wants to either do or be, or maybe both, whereas Louis is run of the mill hot with a side order of issues. THIS IS A GREAT FIC IDEA WORLD. DO THAT FOR ME.

And YES to everything you said. With Louis, sometimes I wonder if he saw himself in those first few episodes of X Factor (bootcamp, judge's houses), where he is much more open and nervous and wearing his heart on his sleeve, and there was something he didn't like, because he started to be different, more "on" all the time, when they got to the live shows (except when they're performing and then you can see the nerves and earnestness). Not all the time, obviously, but still.
