...when the snow lay 'round about, deep and crisp and crispy...

Around this time of year, I'm always wrestling with the "Christmas spirit" - do I have enough, do I have too much, am I wrong for having it? Do I need to do more for my kids, my wife, my friends or family, my fellow man? Or should I just knock it off and leave everyone the heck alone?

I ponder in a most ponderous way )

christmas, automobiles, religion, christianity, parties, philosophical rant, night out

I've become the bah humbug queen this year - too much stuff on my plate, too much self serving "Christmas spirit" buried under a mountain of commercials and sales fliers. I'm hoping Christmas Eve services this eve (my girls are singing in two), will resuscitate the embers. I am pushing for volunteers for WinterHaven, praying I can staff my week without collapsing myself. I've tried hard to sell it as taking Christmas beyond the holidays, but my sign up board is woefully bare ( ... )

Woah. Good post, you should be a pastor or something. (At least somewhere where Kristians (love the term spleenless!) can hear you!

As to the 20 points you're handing out ... Beatles?

Actually, I wasn't too happy with the way I said that. It didn't come out right. Too much navel-gazing, not enough digging to try and come up with the way to live a good life actually is.

As to being a pastor...well, um, I have been thinking about it, but not exactly in the terms one would ordinarily consider it. I decided a few days ago to send off to the Universal Life Church after Christmas for my instant ordainment. :-) I have three main reasons: to be able to solemnize the marriages of friends in a spiritual fashion (and several folks on my flist are considering marriage right now but conduct their spirituality in a non-traditional way), to conduct further research into spirituality with at least a veneer of formality (I may as well have some credentials to do so), and, of course, just for the pure giggles of it.

And as for the title: A WINRAR IS YOU (+20 pts omfg)

20 points should rightfully be awarded to Google. (Hey, I *was* online when I read your post; unlike your musical quiz, which I decided to skip, I figured I'd get some "outside assistance" on this one.)

You know, speaking as a pagan, and a priestess (although not in a formal way but I should probably look into that at some point) I find it an amazing and beautiful thing when someone just is themselves.

I think that it is a very hard thing to do sometimes.
