Rules look good - is an LJ community the best way to do this? Perhaps a Wiki or something of that nature?

You might want to clarify rule #6 a little - there's a lot of weird out there which could be "analagous to modern day" which would include elves (invisible sex elves in Iceland), vampires, ghosts, and aliens. So, can I have a character who believes that they are a vampire, and acts accordingly? Or that there are aliens? How about an occultist who practises black magic, with or without expected results? What are the limits?

Also, are lurkers allowed? I'm not sure I want to/have time to play consistently, but I'd like to watch.

A Wiki might be a very good way to do this. Or we could have both.

I suppose the limits would be that this is supposed to be about how we might realistically do some of this stuff. Yes, there are a few things we have to suspend in order to get it off the ground, but it's not about witches and boggies and robots. ("Invisible sex elves"?)

And watching's fine, as would not playing consistently be.

Object: Agreed.

Background: Problematic; I am where I am and have resources primarily by being here. Perhaps a better idea would be to postulate that we're trying to *emigrate* to said island? I'd rather try for orbit, or Mars, but would settle for "anonymous island" on the grounds of lower travel expenses and we don't have to bring our own air.

Rules: 1-4, fine. 5: I am a person, not a party. Do you mean to imply that I can assume I have supporters in addition to myself that are not part of the game? NPC's, as it were? 6-8: Fine. 9: I have a better suggestion, but the Council will be the venue in which to make it. 10-12: Okay, I can deal with that.

Suggestions: You contain insufficient roast beast. If you come over for dinner, we could remedy that.

best,

Joel

5. Essentially, yes. The "party" thing is purely optional. It's assumed that you are in fact your own person.

I myself, the Grinch, may carve the roast beast.

It'll be a while before I get to Maryland; I regret I'll have to take a raincheck. If you end up in LA, holler.

best,

Joel

Will do. Also, it's an island because I like islands; if enough people reject that preference entirely, we can do something else with it.

this sounds like an excellent framework for beginning. i propose that there be a specific section of the memories dedicated to the features.

Not bad, but I still liked how CPC was run via email. 'Course I'm a) a traditionalist, and b) a CPC sentimentalist.

Did someone say wiki?

emeraldage worked very well, it started as an LJ community, and dragonscholar would take solidified data and transfer it to the wiki. The plan was to eventually open the wiki up to all community members, but, unfortunately, it imploded before that point.

The wiki is a good idea. Really, any easily editable page would be fine; it doesn't have to be editable by everyone.
