ah. You can also do that without unfriending--if you click on the "edit friends" link from your home page or profile page, it will let you choose colors, edit information, etc.

What sorts of interests do we have in common? Your "interest" section is a bit sparse, and I know I'm not into quantum anything (except for Quantum Leap).

(whenever someone mentions Quantum Leap, I always remember the visual from that episode where he was a contestant in a beauty pageant, the swimsuit competition, it's an oddly frightening yet endlessly amusing image to have burned into my subconscious)
I'm really bad about writing/explaining/listing my interests, especially in website form format. To some extent I'm interested in everything.
