Gracen, in my stead as Captain, I would be sending Jim Kirk (not of this universe). With a greater time in lead as Captain, I think he would be our strongest and safest bet to be meeting any unknown species.

Are you willing to serve as second to him as you would for me on this mission?

I am not opposed to the command supervision of James Kirk. His competency as an individual and officer, insofar as I have reviewed, are both impressive and applicable.

As you are the Captain, ultimately, barring a breach of protocol, it is your decision to make. I shall defer to James Kirk.
