First of all, thank you for the link - I had been wondering about this, and as I had suspected, I missed the post in my disproportionately massive friends' list.
And it doesn't fail at all! It's actually just the sort of subtle, intrapersonal romance that is so seldomly written well, and it works so perfectly for Jane and Rochester. Also, the vocabulary was, for lack of a more adequate term, delicious. Your diction dizzies me, truly - you have the most appropriate description for everything, and even though I'm familiar enough with synonyms and definitions, it never even occurs to me to use words in the way you do. I am in total awe. ♥
Happy belated Christmas/New Year, and I'm forever indebted for your indulgence of my strange request. This is so going in my memories. =]
I read up on some quotes and such to get back into the rhythm of Bronte's style. In looking at some of it it seemed too happy happy for me...because you would think that, being the kind of man Rochester is, he would have a lot of emotional baggage to take a long with him, despite Jane's trying to convince me to the contrary.
I love writing pastiche (fic? I think "pastiche" is academia's way of writing fic, I think) for this period because that was a time when writer's truly loved and had an appreciation for words. All those $5 words that you can't trot out in normal conversation you can use there. <3 I encourage you to practice lots and study stylistics of the old pros (I am more partial to Austen than to Bronte, in that regard...Frances Burney is also lovely...if you want truly warped stylistics and warped style in general, check out The Life and Opinions of Tristam Shandy, Gentleman by Laurence Sterne....there are probably others, if you want). Read widely is the best advice I

I just finished watching Seirei no Moribito and I was immediately yearning for Tanda X Balsa fic. Thank you so much for writing "For Every Thing There Is a Season". In such spare delicate prose you captured everything I love about this couple. <3
You're very welcome! Any Seirei fic fans make me very happy as fanfic for the series is almost non-existent (I know of one other writer off the top of my head...).
But I love Tanda and Balsa - they need some more ficcy love!
And thank you for your lovely comment, I am so glad you enjoyed!
*squeals* Kyouya and Renge!! I must sound so crazy to be this excited but I can't help it! It was short but it was fabulous! And it kept me smiling while revising on Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (which is an unsightly topic and will be weird for someone to smile while revising that topic) XD
May I please please request that you write more on KyouyaRenge? I know it must be an awkward pairing for you..but..please? I find it...interesting to see how those two opposite characters interact (especially with Renge as his wife *smiles*). I'm giddy just thinking about it XD
Very late, but I just had to comment - all of these fics were lovely :D. I particularly love the Balsa/Tanda one for Egelantier, but the last ouran one was great too. Very ncie all around, thanks for posting :D.
