Where You Want to Go and What You're Running From...

I think, with these two fics, I have both the Eros and the Death Instinct thoroughly covered.

I'm so productive that it kind of scares me...D:

And, because I think it prudent, I'm gonna do one of these for once -

First, Harry Potter with a warning that its a massive spoiler for Half-Blood Prince for dearest kirat et all.

[HP Fic] 'Playing Judas' )

well that certainly made ME happy. I love Ayame stories, and the writing style of this one seems to suit her perfectly! well done!

Well, I am glad that I made at least one person happy!

Ayame is actually fun to write...I get to break out all the pedantic big old words that look funny in everday conversation and have in remain perfectly in character...and she's so awesomely contradictory (although I tried to explain why...)

But thank you for your comments, I'm glad you liked it. ^_^

i loved the chapter with Ayame in, she was quite funny for me to snerk at, even though i guess it wasn't so funny to do so XD
NO ONE is immune to Tamaki's charms!
(i remain to be convinced Tamaki's grandma won't end up forgiving him.)
and Ranka... pah ;) denial! XD
i'm starting to sound like a crackedpot XD

Naw, she's so anal retentive you can't afford not to snark at her (and I am an awful lot like her...^^U)

And no, Tamaki could charm an eskimo into buying snow. Suou-sama and Ranka will catch on soon...they just need some more glitter to get themselves out of denial.

Its vacation time, sound like a cracked pot all you like. :D

I enjoyed the Ayame fic.

It's kind of like she suffocates herself with all that pragmatism of hers.

Maybe the fact that she always strives, but never seems to enjoy, is what keeps her in second (or third) place.

I really liked the bit about how she gave the twins' a report on how she differed from a telegraph. LOL

I liked the analogy of Kyouya being an unattainable star, and the realization that it was from admiration that her attraction for someone was born.

I think that's very much the case for overachievers. Someone has to "beat" them before they'll see anyone as on their level and worthy of a second look.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. :)

She does indeed suffocate herself because she's so busy building up an image of herself through limiting herself to what she thinks she needs to be on "the top." And that's a goal simply for the sake of being there and having that prestige rather than the fact that she enjoys intellectual pursuits.

In fact, Haruhi - in the way in which she doesn't enjoy the academic parts as more than a means to and end - is quite like that as well.

And that is how overachievers work. ^_^ Their entire world falls apart and they are forced to kidnap other people's teddy bears when they are beaten!

Anyways, I am very glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for reading!

I love you to little bits and pieces, Sci'. This was certainly something to wake up to. She's so perfectly depicted here, and her relationship with Kyouya so carefully painted, it's hard to believe. Her frustration at Kyouya, Tamaki, everything, and her struggle to match up to Kyouya all along -- you set it all up so well. You're absolutely, criminally wonderful. ♥

I was particularly captured by the mention of her straight hair as 'the very symbol of her will to attain that exalted invincibility that came with utter pragmatism and all traits Kyouya embodied.' There's no better way to put it. Her hair really is very symbolistic, which is something I've always loved about her.

My second favourite line wasn't in the story, though. It was in the comments.

"Criminally wonderful"...? *snorfle followed by ecstatic glompage*

Her hair is grand facade covering her interior desire to bloom forth into an unrestrained, joyful maiden...! Ya know, it's scary how I can just lapse into Tamaki...^^

And someone needs to make an Ayame icon which says "It's all fun and games until someone kidnaps the teddy bear..." It is just necessary. But really, to be a super overachiever, she should have just kidnapped their textbooks - well, Tamaki's...the Ootori police are daunting - or she could have just kidnapped Haruhi for an extended period of time.

Then Tamaki would be wallowing in exquisite despair and Kyouya would have to take care of him. That would put a damper on the grades.

This would all make insane crack fic. No lame-o bunnies! Go away!

But, insanity away, Love for you (and Rachel, of course)! <3
