While seeing all of the promotions for NBC's live "Sound of Music," it occurred to me that I have never actually seen "The Sound of Music." I am not sure how this is possible, as it is one of my mom's favorite movies, but I think it's one of her favorites to sing songs from, as opposed to watch start to finish on television or dvd ( Read more... )

So? What did you think? I love The Sound of Music and have seen it numerous times. I own the soundtrack on vinyl and used to have a copy of The Sound of Music / The Story of The Trapp Family Singers.

I kind of loved it! I mean, Carrie Underwood is not going to win any acting awards, and Captain Von Trapp sometimes talked like he was still wearing the vampire fangs from True Blood, but it was so fun! And I think I am getting the original on dvd for Christmas - woot! I hope they do a big production musical every year - it was really fun to watch.
