And they wonder why so many kids are labeled ADD nowadays.
Ghetto, tho? Perhaps the actual product, the way it sticks out of the pocket thingy is a jerry-rigged/ghetto way to do it... but the concept itself is sooooo unnecessary that it hurts my soul!
I meant ghetto as in, another product which makes it so you never have to touch or hold your baby. in general, a baby fussy in a stroller will quiet down if you pick it up. this just goes along with all the DVD's marketed towards infants, the strollers that you use a carseat on so you don't have to touch your baby at any point on your trip, the sling thingys which suspend a bottle from a carseat handle, etc.
I get very angry about the way that our culture is learning to depend on TV and DVDs/toys to pacify our kids, instead of, as you said, holding them/tending to them or teaching them to be good instead of giving in to their tantrums (older kids).
Ok, our definition of ghetto is very different :) My definition of "ghetto" is something that's cheaply done, jerry-rigged, etc.
does it matter? no baby needs to be watching any TV at all. period. this is yet another product designed to make it so you never have to actually touch your baby, ever. wanna know what I do when Ingrid gets fussy in a stroller? I pick her up, and it's crazy, but it works. that's if I'm not wearing her in a sling to begin with.
