I had a meeting with my mentor at work today about the whole situation with my boss and current job. He is wonderful, my mentor. But I left so conflicted. He wants me to give it another shot to get my boss(es) on board with my vision for what I wanted to do with this rotation. I'm not even sure I want my current rotation anymore. My mentor and ( Read more... )

*hugs* Oh, bb. You're not a quitter, and you won't be one if you take the position with this other group. Go where you're happy, go to where the opportunity is. Life's too short to be miserable.

I cannot possibly see how leaving a frustrating position where the short-sighted people there won't let you do the thing which is the whole reason you are there do can be considered quitting, especially when its to go somewhere where people like you, you like them, it's a good opportunity rather than a step backwards, and its something you enjoy AND are good at. That sounds like its made of win. In fact, I think that's called succeeding. ;)

Chin up, cowboy. Go for it! :D

I've been there. I've been in position where I tried and tried to make a bad/frustrating/stressful situation better- no matter how hard I worked it didn't make a difference. A new opportunity presented itself and I took it.
I don't think you should think of it as quitting. It seems like you've given it your all and it's time for a change of scenery. Your happiness and sanity are a lot more valuable than what others may think of you.

Seriously- go for it.

I think you'd make the right decision going with your gut. I found myself performing better in every respect and being happier when I worked at a place I liked and with people who appreciated me. You deserve that.

It's sometimes shocking to me how much the people make the difference. Even if the work it what you've always dreamed of doing, if the people situation is bad, it can taint the whole thing. No, I'm ready to be back among people who truly care about me.
