AT LAST !! a fanfiction (of one of my fandoms) in french o/ thx !!! I actually got the 15 CMX volumes of Eroica on ebay for an affordable price last year but I can't scan them yet since I lended them to a friend :/ (idk when they will finish them though)
Thanks for your quick answer ! I was really surprised to discover another french-speaking fan of this manga! (truth is, I translated this fic so more people could possibly read it...)
I'm glad you like it, and that it reminds you of true dreams. That proves I have been successful in my rendition of a nightmare ! :)
I wanted to show in a somewhat "eroguro" way the violent side of a major, which is, to me, the reaction of someone who has never been taught how to deal with his feelings. This, and the fact he is in reality afraid of Eroica, while the latter is one of the very few people who aren't scared of him.
My beta-reader then told me that the dream was the best way to show the feelings of this character. And truth is, a lot of fanfictions tend to fall into the trap of an introspective major, which is very OOC for him, I think. The fact that his past is known to us by one of his comrades and not by himself, contrary to Eroica, is quite significant of this.
I enjoyed this fic (I read the English translation). I laughed at the part in the dream sequence where Eroica says he sees only a potato, and Klaus discovers he has turned into a giant baked potato.
This comment interests me: ... the violent side of a major, which is, to me, the reaction of someone who has never been taught how to deal with his feelings
I think we can read Klaus this way. His upbringing, as read in canon, could encourage him to shut off his feelings, and his life in espionage would surely compound this. Klaus isn't a warm fluffy kind of guy.
I hadn't heard of "eroguro" before - and now I'm busy reading about this. I know so little about Japanese aesthetics and Japanese artistic movements. Thanks!
You're welcome. Thank you for reading me, it's the first time I translate something in a foreign language and it has been quite rough ! ...but worth the effort it seems ! :)
For the violence of Klaus, I came to this conclusion seeing how often violent people tend to be peolple who are not able to express their feelings properly, whether they are lacking the necessary level of language to do so, or, in the case of Klaus, because of their upbringing.
However, I think it's important to mention that Klaus is violent towards Eroica because he fears him, not because he hates or despises him. The latter is the field of people like "Steamroller" and his FBI crew...
