A couple of weeks ago I was in Munich, and found there some wild boar themed art works, which you might also find interesting:

You're welcome! :) Finding that boar statue just a few moments before my departure was indeed one of the best moments of the whole trip.

Ha, when I saw the headline of your post I thought at once of the boar in front of the Deutsches Jagd- und Fischereimuseum, and there he is indeed. :)
Didn't know about his "backstory", though! Woah, I salute to your knowledge.

"I don't remember when I'd last seen this ridiculous a piece of art."

I often think along this line when I see another ..."thought-provoking" piece of modern art. ;P I presume this droll thing really is supposed to celebrate Germany's love for potatoes. Funny that its sprouting roots (?) look a little like antlers.

And if I see it correctly, the Meissen tea set costs ... 4284 Euro? Well, oof, yeah. Traditional handmade quality and all that. Must be nice to be a person who can afford it...! *glance to the aristocratic heroes of our beloved manga*

I guess everyone fortunate to be familiar with Munich must know that statue due to it's central location in Innenstadt... It's kind of hard to miss, except by tourists like me with too little time and too much to see during just one weekend. :P

I'm not either a big fan of modern/contemporary art, but every now and then one can find some interesting works from that category too. More often not though. And what comes to the potato statue, first I thought it were a disfigured satellite with some horribly damaged antennas sticking out of it. X) So, it wasn't a particularly contemplative art experience, but a lot of fun - I decided to take that kitsch sculpture purely as a joke (at the expense of all stuffy public commemorative monuments).

Nice price, isn't it? ;D But then again to those who can describe 20 000 as "a spending money" or (even better) "a pittance" it must be a reasonably priced set. ;)

Not a bad idea for a fic! :D I mean it's not too hard to imagine the major to have an under cover persona like that. Or maybe he'd be coaching the alphabet to be a professional level football team... But anyway, especially if it were happening in cold war times, I guess that'd be a credible identity to for example enter the Soviet Union (or East Germany) for a mission under an excuse of a friendly match between two nations.
