For the record, I think you are excellent at being there for people. I know from personal experience just talking to you always helps me when I'm feeling low. But it's really important to remember you sometimes have to be "selfish" and put your own emotional health first. It can be really easy to overload when stuff is going wrong all around you, and you shouldn't feel guilty about it. <3

Yeaaah that's the sad bit about art school. I think, of the people I started with, roughly one third are making it to graduation in their original intended major and focus. It sucks.
Glad you're enjoying animation! :) It's so rewarding to actually start working towards the thing you wanna do, no? I'm thinking about starting to teach myself some animation soon, really give a bang to my thesis :)
Yeah, it makes me feel kind of bad because I pretty much SET money-wise, I'm in the major I want to be in and I'm doing pretty okay so far. I wish everyone had the same resources as I do. :C
Thanks!! I was a little worried I wouldn't really like it and I'd have to go through the process of switching majors, but so far I'm enjoying it. It might be too soon to know, but I think it's a good start.

Yeah, I'm lucky in that I qualify for aid and loans, and that my back story is unique enough that I can usually get some aid for being interesting. It's really heartbreaking when someone just cant afford to go to school anymore. I have a friend who had to leave sophomore year here that I still keep in touch with and share assignments with, if you're especially close with anyone who ends up having to drop, you might wanna consider tossing them some of your lesson plans :)
