But completely understandable...that book is humanity at it's most human form...awful. (does that even make sense...I just woke up? Oh well...you know what I'm getting at.)
My interaction with Lord of the Flies was completely different.
I got away with never reading the book for school. I think it was the year after I graduated from college, I decided I would culture myself and read it. I read the first 20 pages or so and then put the book down, disgusted, because the WRITING STYLE so rubbed me the wrong way. I couldn't help but feel that all of the boys dialogue didn't make them seem young, but instead made them sound mentally retarded.
